Simple Method for Determining the Sex of Your Parrot

Determining the sex of a parrot is often a very difficult thing to do. Most parrot species including the African Grey are very difficult if not impossible to determine their sex by visual inspection. Usually the parrot owner has to resort to invasive procedures like Endoscopy, Fecal Steroid Analysis or DNA analysis by an experienced veterinarian. These procedures are time consuming and sometimes very expensive.

Researchers at the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine have now discovered a new scientific method for determining the sex of an African Grey parrot that is simple, doesn't require a veterinarian, and doesn't require expensive equipment. This method may also be used on other species.
